The countdown has begun
I have purchased most of my books, and am back in Ithaca for the semester. Classes start Thursday. But before I talk too much about this semester I will try to catch you up on what I have been up to.I have continued working in the admissions office, answering phone calls and giving tours of the engineering quad. If you plan on applying to Cornell, I highly suggest visiting Cornell, and taking an engineering tour and see an information session, the engineering information session. Our information session is given by an admissions councilor and they tell you exactly what they are looking for from our applicants.
I also took a trip down to New York City, to take my girl friend home. Yes engineers do date, in case you were worried. There are also a lot of things on campus to do, do not worry you do not need a car. Cornell is not a suitcase college, but there is daily bus service to New York City.
Last night I went to the second annual Back to School Bout or the Ithaca SufferJets, http://www.ithacarollerderby.com/ It was a lot of fun, a little hard to get to without a car, but worth seeing, especially if you are here over a summer. It is another uniquely Ithaca thing, well not so unique as other places have team, but Ithaca fans are just as awesome as Cornell Hockey fans.
I will be back doing weekly updates once classes get underway.
Have a good one,
Sean
